I think I like this picture

I’m not quite sure.DSCN0844

I really wish I had the big camera that day.

Lighting is everything

When we got to the maze it was a bit overcast and dreary but on the way back up the hill I turned around and said WOW!  This is what I saw.DSCN0843 It is just perfect.  The hill was pretty steep so I was breathing pretty heavily but if it wasn’t for that, this sight would have taken my breath away.

I want to go down that road

I really wish I had taken my big camera to the maze with us.  I didn’t think there would be enough photo opportunities to justify my DSLR so I took my little pocket sized one.  I’m glad I did that because it so pretty there.  This little road looked so inviting.DSCN0824

I got lost in the maize

Yesterday I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams of going through a corn maze.  We had a really good time.  And don’t worry, we didn’t actually get lost in the maze.DSCN0823

Leaves, leaves, leaves!

We went to the park again today.  We just couldn’t resist taking more pictures of the leaves.  It was chilly but worth it.  I even had to break my gloves out.
I feel it is necessary to point out that those are my old shoes that I wear when we go to the park.

I’m a leaf peeper!

James and I spent some time in the park yesterday. It was a cool and crisp day and the leaves were so pretty. It was exciting for us because we ended up in a part of the park we had never been before. It was Bridal Veil Falls in the Bedford Reservation. We spend a good amount of time in the park system so it is somewhat rare for us to end up in a new area. The colors were stunning.  This isn't the actual Bridal Veil waterfall, but I really liked all of the color.DSC_0029

I think I’ve recovered from the ladybug incident.

My Kind of Haunted House

View Detroit and Toledo

It wasn’t actually a haunted house, but it might as well have been because I was on edge the entire time. While in Toledo we stopped at the Butterfly House which is amazing, I really recommend it. I know the butterflies can’t hurt me, I repeat that to myself while I’m in there, but I still freak out when they fly close to me. Here are some of my pictures from today. Check out that really scary butterfly outside. Man, I’m going to have nightmares about that one!

Super Fun Day

Today I woke up to “Super Fun Day.”  James surprised me by taking me to the Ohio State Fair which meant waking up at 6:30 and driving for 2 hours to Columbus.  We did have a super fun day.

I loved taking pictures of the rides, the bright colors with the pretty blue sky in the background.

DSC_0138DSC_0140 DSC_0008James re-enacted a story Cory told him about licking a giant salt lick.DSC_0029 Then we got our “sexy” on and modeled some sunglasses.DSC_0060 DSC_0061They had a nature area there where they had pretty flowers and a butterfly house.  It was really busy in the butterfly house so I couldn’t dilly-dally and take too many pictures, but I did manage to get a few. DSC_0025DSC_0071 DSC_0075 DSC_0076 DSC_0077Doesn’t this last one look like the butterfly is waiting for permission to take off? DSC_0107They had a logger demonstration and James and I thought, oh that’ll be interesting, but it actually was.  They were really funny.  Here they are doing the log in the water competition, I thought it was a good shot of him falling off.  I’ll have to add some more pictures later.

After we left the fair we went to a restaurant we saw on “Man V. Food.”  Thurman’s Cafe the food was really yummy but the restaurant is teeny-tiny, it was the longest wait to be seated I’ve ever endured.

So that was super fun day, boy am I pooped.

Another one to add to my favorites

So bugs make me uncomfortable, not that I am afraid of them, we just don’t get along very well.  But whenever I see them I try to get in close to take a picture of them.  Call me a masochist.

DSC_0101This little guy wasn’t too bad, he kept spinning around.  I honestly think he had an itch and he was trying to reach it.

I really like this next picture.  I took it blind, holding the camera down at ground level and shooting up.  When I looked at the picture on the camera I was very pleased.  It’s my new wallpaper.

James liked the second one I tool better.  Which do you like?

These are a few of my favorite things

I made myself a photo book at work today. It was a lot of fun to go back through my pictures and pick out twenty of my very favorites. It’s neat to see how much my style has changed yet how it is still the exact same.

Fireworks!

I had forgotten about the fireworks tonight, that is until I heard a loud boom outside the apartment. When I went outside I saw we had a perfect view of the action straight down our street. Unexpected surprises are always great!

This is a lake?

DSC_0011James and I walked the 5 mile round trip Lake to Lake trail today. It was a great walk, we saw several different kinds of birds, some deer and a baby turtle.

DSC_0015

We saw goldfinches and purple finches (I can’t figure out why they aren’t called red finches)

DSC_0043

So we walked and we walked to Lake Abram and this is where we ended up. DSC_0046 This is Lake Abram, not very lakey is it? It was a very pretty spot but what makes a lake a lake?

At least we got a nice walk out of it. When we got home we decided to jump in the pool, it felt wonderful. But I forgot that I tend to burn, so now here I am Lobster Becci. Hopefully I’ll tan…
