Happy Birthday Len!

Happy 30th Birthday!  Wow, 30!  Can you believe it?  It seems like just last week we were down the basement trying to light the candy cigarettes to be cool.  Or talking about how mean Mom was through the vents after we had been sent to our rooms.  You were always there for me while we were growing up and you continue to support me in your old age.  You are a really great guy and I am so proud to call you my brother and my friend!  I love you!
If you have a birthday wish for Len, feel free to post it in the comments! Thanks!

Today's cooking tip

vegan pierogiesImage by foonus via Flickr
I like easy foods.  Meals that require as few steps as possible are number one in my book.  Not that frozen pierogies are a challenge to make but any way that I can simplify the better.  Last time I made some Mrs. T's I noticed they have how to make them in your Foreman grill.  I figured I would try it and I was not disappointed.  So I tried it today with my Target brand pierogies, yum!  Just preheat the grill on high, spray the grill with some Pam or something and throw them in for five minutes.  It's that easy, they come out crispy and they have cute little grill lines.
Give it a try next time you want something quick and easy.  Let me know how it works for you.

Announcing Picasa 3.5, now with name tags, better geotagging and more

This is very exciting for me. I cannot say enough good things about the Picasa software. It's a totally free program offered by google that simplifies everything about owning a digital camera. Before I started using Picasa I would load my pictures onto the computer and they would be called "New Folder 42." I never knew what was actually in the folder. With Picasa it forces me to name the folder and I can add a description to it; where it was taken, the date, any comments and we even geotag our pictures which means we put the exact location the picture was taken. So already I'm super organized because I can search all of those factors, but now I'll be able to search by face. I love it! The minute I read this I downloaded the update and I am running the scans right now.

Picasa is so much more than an organization tool. The editing while very basic is pretty much everything you'll need. The "I'm feeling lucky" button is magic. Give it a try.

Here is the official announcement from the Google Photos Blog.

I wish there was always a corn field outside my window.

Isn't it pretty?

And it really is right outside the window.
