I had forgotten about the fireworks tonight, that is until I heard a loud boom outside the apartment. When I went outside I saw we had a perfect view of the action straight down our street. Unexpected surprises are always great!

Who doesn’t love a parade?
Tonight we went to the Middleburg parade, I love parades! They throw candy at me!And I do mean at me, One little kid threw a line drive that got me right in the tummy.
Here are some more pics from the night.

In Memory of
My grandma passed away a year ago. I’m sure that everyone thinks their grandma is pretty special, but I have to argue that mine was one of the best. Now Grandma wasn’t your typical grandma, I don’t remember her ever baking cookies and her house was far from immaculate, but she had other things going for her. She cared so much for people. Every time you went to her house she would have something she picked up for you from a garage sale. She LOVED her garage sales and was always thinking of you, always keeping an eye out for that perfect find. Whenever I see a garage sale, I still think of her and smile, because she would be smiling too.
Grandma was always fun to be around. For a few years we had a nice tradition of Friday night dinners at a local restaurant. There was a big group of us and we just had a good time spending time together.
She was up for anything her grandkids would ask of her. In her late 60’s she was willing to ride the roller coasters with us and if I asked her to put on a mask so I could take a picture she would play the part.
She lived a very full life and I’m so grateful to have had her.
If you have a memory of Becky, please share it in the comments. I'd love to hear it.

This is a lake?
James and I walked the 5 mile round trip Lake to Lake trail today. It was a great walk, we saw several different kinds of birds, some deer and a baby turtle.
We saw goldfinches and purple finches (I can’t figure out why they aren’t called red finches)
So we walked and we walked to Lake Abram and this is where we ended up. This is Lake Abram, not very lakey is it? It was a very pretty spot but what makes a lake a lake?
At least we got a nice walk out of it. When we got home we decided to jump in the pool, it felt wonderful. But I forgot that I tend to burn, so now here I am Lobster Becci. Hopefully I’ll tan…

Another pic from Saturday night
I just realized James and I didn’t do the “heads together, self-portrait” shot. Oh well, I guess that means we’ll have to go back for another sunset.
Here is another shot from the night. I love that tree. It seems amazing to me to have a tree in the middle of the beach, right next to the lake.
