Something awful happened to me today.

James and I decided to do the Lake to Lake walk again today.  Everything was going well until we stopped at the overlook thing about a quarter of the way in.  I went to say something to James and a ladybug flew into my mouth.  YUCK!  It tasted terrible!  I don’t think it got past my teeth but I tasted it on my lips for several minutes after spitting it out.  They say that insects use bright colors as a warning to predators that they are poisonous or that they taste nasty, that is very true. 

Other than that incident the walk was great!  We saw deer, turtles, ducks and even a hawk.

Free paint

I decided to play around with the free paint section in Art Academy.  Here is the pear I painted without any help at all from Vince.

My pepper sketch

My next drawing in Art Academy was a pepper sketch.  With this one I was more on my own.  Vince (my instructor) told me the steps that I needed to take during the introduction but after that he didn't give me any guidance.  Eek!

Here is the first pencil sketch that I did in Art Academy.  The game is very detailed and walks you through each step.

James downloaded this program on the ds a few weeks ago and I just started fooling around with it last week. This "game" is amazing. It is called Art Academy, it teaches you some basic art skills. So far I've worked on pencil sketches and painting. I am pretty impressed with what I've been able to do with it.  This is my first painting.
